The Best Time to Book a Snagging Survey (Pre-Handover vs. Post-Move-In)

Timing is crucial when it comes to getting the most out of your snagging survey. The sooner issues are spotted, the easier it is to get your developer to resolve them.

Here are the three best times to book:

1. Before Completion (Pre-Handover)

This is ideal. We inspect the property before you move in, while it's still empty. You hand the report straight to your developer to fix snags before your official handover.

2. Just After Moving In (0–2 weeks)

Still an excellent option. You get to experience the house while we carry out a full technical inspection. Many buyers combine this with keeping their own snag list too.

3. Within the First 2 Years (Warranty Period)

Missed the early window? No problem. You can still book a snagging survey within your NHBC (or equivalent) 2-year warranty period. We’ll document the snags and help you request repairs.

In all cases, early inspection = less stress + better builder accountability.
