These beetles are commonly called plaster beetles and they thrive in damp conditions where they feed on mould and fungus commonly from damp plaster or a leak they will move in and live behind skirting boards ,within walls, cupboards etc feeding on the mould and fungus ,these beetles are typically around 2mm in size and often get mistaken for other species of beetles such as flour beetles,

But do not fear these beetles will disappear once their food source has gone this means you need to dry your property out by increasing air circulation by opening doors and windows and let the fresh air in ,you can also hire a de humidifier which will speed up the removal of moisture ,

Whilst you are awaiting the beetles to disappear naturally you can collect up any beetles you find around the property and remove them from your home, in some circumstances where the infestation is severe you will need to engage a pest control specialist to deal with the issue .
